Novalis
Shaped Beam Surgery is one of the most technologically-advanced
procedures available today, giving new hope to patients. It is
an advanced method of stereotactic radiosurgery in which patients
are able to return to their daily routine the same day.
With Novalis, beams of radiation are shaped with millimeter precision to match the exact contour of a tumor or lesion, thus protecting surrounding healthy tissue.
In July 2004, Southeast Missouri Hospital became the first in Missouri and among fewer than 60 medical facilities in the world to offer Novalis treatment. A full-time board-certified Radiation Oncologist, in-house physicists along with personalized service and followup care sets Southeast's Novalis center apart from many centers worldwide.
